play the conversation as often as possible, until you are able to understand the content and even able to predict what the next word sounds like.

The video dialogue will be followed by an explanation lecture, with pin yin, and every detail from the video dialogue. You can listen, repeat, and try to imitate the pronounciation of a word using shadowing technique ( repeat right after you hear a word or a sentence) you can record yourself and compare yourself with native speaker.

  • Udemy – Learn Chinese Stories from Mencius for HSK 4-6 Vol 2 [100% OFF]

    Posted on 03/01/2019 by | 0 comments

    Course Description

Mencius or Mengzi (372–289 BC or 385–303 or 302 BC) was a Chinese philosopher who has often been described as the “second Sage”, that is after only Confucius himself.

The transmission of Chinese culture from generation to generation is a key factor in the continuation and development worldwide of overseas Chinese communities. It is also an important reason why overseas Chinese communities grow, identify themselves with the Chinese nation, and love the China passionately.  The face that all overseas Chinese are willing to carry forward cultural orthoxy, revere the aged and honor the wise, cement peaceful relations by upholding good faith, venerate ethics, value tradition, coexist in harmony, and preserve differences while striving for similarities, is attributable above all to the civilizing educational impact of Chinese culture.

Culture is the driving force behind human history and civilization; it is like running water-a source of nourishment and growth that never stagnates. To propagate and advance culture, it is necessary to carry on tradition in all its original beauty and at the same time to instill it with a modern spirit.

    中华文化在海外广为流传,是各地华侨社会世代相传、延续发展的关键因素;亦为华侨生生不息,认同中华民族、热爱中华的主因。而各地华侨均能秉承文化道统,敬老尊贤,讲信修睦,尊重伦理,重视传统,相率和谐共处,存异求同,尤为中华文化经年累月教化薰陶功。

Mencius, also known by his birth name Meng Ke , was born in the State of Zou, now forming the territory of the county-level city of Zoucheng (originally Zouxian), Shandong Province, only thirty kilometres (eighteen miles) south of Qufu, Confucius’s birthplace.

He was an itinerant Chinese philosopher and sage, and one of the principal interpreters of Confucianism. Supposedly, he was a pupil of Confucius’s grandson, Zisi. Like Confucius, according to legend, he travelled throughout China for forty years to offer advice to rulers for reform.  During the Warring States period (403–221 BC), Mencius served as an official and scholar at the Jixia Academy in the State of Qi (1046 BC to 221 BC) from 319 to 312 BC. He expressed his filial devotion when he took three years leave of absence from his official duties for Qi to mourn his mother’s death. Disappointed at his failure to effect changes in his contemporary world, he retired from public life.

    Posted on 29/07/2016 by | 0 comments

    Course Description

    Survival Chinese

Short courses for a rapid introduction to Chinese.

Survival Chinese is highly recommended to learn after learning Chinese pronunciation, which is suitable for beginners who are planning to travel in China, or get survived in daily life, or just experience Chinese studying. In this course, we are going to learn some basic expressions, including simple self-introduction, greetings, numbers and time, etc. Please don’t be shy, follow your teacher’s instructions and speak Chinese. You will find it’s very helpful for your improvement.

Contrary to popular belief, Mandarin is in many ways simpler than English. There are fewer syllables (compare about 400 syllables in Mandarin to 4,000 in English) which in terms of pronunciation also mostly exist in English. Therefore, any student can reasonably expect to acquire an excellent Mandarin pronunciation in a relatively short time. Mandarin also does not feature conjugation of verbs, just as there are no real tenses and accompanying verb forms.

If you’re traveling in China, don’t miss out on the chance to learn all the language skills you need to survive, and see for yourself just how easy Mandarin really is to learn. In this fun and interactive online course, you will learn the essentials to get around China such as greetings, numbers, shopping and bargaining, ordering food, and many more.

This course is designed to give a basic and practical knowledge of Chinese to help you get around China. Even just a few words of Chinese, such as Ni Hao [你好 Nee-How – Hello!] and XieXie [谢谢 Shay-Shay – Thank You], will impress your colleagues and friends, and help you to make the most of your China experience.

  • Udemy – Conversational Chinese Elementary Level for HSK 1-2 [100% off]

    Posted on 29/07/2016 by | 0 comments

Conversational Chinese Elementary Level for HSK 1-2

    Course Description

HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) or the Chinese Proficiency Test is an international standardized exam which tests and rates Chinese language proficiency. It assesses non-native Chinese speakers abilities in using the Chinese language in their daily, academic and professional lives. HSK test was developed in 1984 and the first HSK test was held overseas in 1991. Since then, the Chinese testing centers have spread all over
    domestic and foreign lands.

The Major Uses of HSK Certification:

    1. certifying the necessary proficiency to enter a Chinese college or university as a graduate or undergraduate student
    2. demonstration of competence in application for an HSK scholarship for support in academic studies
    3. certification of exemption from taking Chinese language courses
    4. admission to mainland companies for employment

    HSK Test Format

The HSK test consists of a variety of test types. Tests are normally divided into groups of 15 which all follow a common format: listening, writing, reading, multiple-choice, rearrange-words-into-sentences, etc..The time breakdown works out so that you have approximately 45 seconds per question across the entire exam.

Because the test is offered more broadly overseas, there is less consistency in terms of what you can expect otherwise. Depending on the level, you may be able to listen to audio passages more than once, for instance. There are also reports that the certain versions of the exam offered at very basic levels now include pinyin in some questions instead of characters. Despite this, multiple choice questions continue to dominate the exam, so we recommend preparing using those.

In HSK 1, test takers can understand and use very simple Chinese phrases, meet basic needs for communication and possess the ability to further their Chinese language studies. Meanwhile, HSK 2 require test takers to have an excellent grasp of basic Chinese and can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.

In this course, we will study simple mandarin sentences and around 300 vocabulary that commonly used in daily life, which 150 of them belongs to HSK 1 and the rest are for HSK 2 takers.

So this course formatted for beginner in learning mandarin, we still use English in the teaching while strongly recommended usage of Mandarin in the course. Professionals, students and casual learners are strongly recommended to take this course.

The Easiest Way to Learn Mandarin Chinese

    Course Description

In 2009, I received admission from 4 USA law schools out of 6 law schools I applied. I selected one and came to USA from China. You must be shocked to found out I was labeled as “English Idiot” back in senior high school in Shanghai, China. The school system is an old system, and not efficient to help you master a foreign language.

The school system couldn’t afford to keep some very good teachers, because they are not getting paid too much. And the school system often label some smartest children as “stupid”.

If you want to become the top expert of anything, the best way probably is to teach yourself. I created this course to help people, everyone is different, I want to teach my course by collecting feed backs and questions and design it to fit students’ need. Welcome to join!
